Advocate for a Clean DREAM Act

December 20, 2017

On Sept. 5, Trump announced that he was terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The Obama-era program provides relief from deportation for an estimated 800,000 young immigrants. These immigrants have gone to our schools, they live and work in our communities, they have families, and now they’re at an even greater risk of deportation.

Stop the Trump Tax Scam

December 15, 2017

Members of the House and Senate are currently meeting in “conference committee” to resolve the differences between their Tax Scam bills. Sign Up for Healthcare

December 15, 2017

Despite the Trump Administration’s best efforts to keep citizens who need healthcare in the dark about how to sign up for the ACA, enrollment this year is already up about 50% — and that’s with a sign-up season that is 50% shorter than last year. Not bad!

Today is the final deadline to sign up for health coverage — are you covered?

So today… do something that makes you feel truly joyful.

End Slavery in Libya

November 29, 2017

Researchers estimate 40 million people are enslaved around the world generating about $150 billion in illegal profits. Recent media attention has been called to the slave trade in Libya. A CNN report published earlier this month brought attention to this disturbing situation. This information has horrified The United Nations chief and caused outrage around the world.

Don’t Dismantle Net Neutrality

November 27, 2017

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Pai is pushing to reverse net neutrality protections – important rules for protecting the free flow of information on the internet. Pai’s proposal allows the companies that provide our internet connection new measures of control over what we do online. This would be a devastating blow to the free and open internet we rely on for streaming videos, communicating with our networks – and yes, reading critical news stories about the state of our democracy.
