Offered as a part of the 2013 Gandhi-King Youth and Community Conference, presented by MidSouth Peace and Justice Center and BRIDGES, this series of workshops offers the high school students of Memphis and Shelby County the opportunity to explore and learn about the civil rights issues that affect them every day in their schools and communities. Come participate in interactive forums and led by respected civil rights experts on issues such as: • Free Speech • Freedom of the Press • Interactions with Law Enforcement • Religious Freedom • LGBT Equality • And more… Cost of attendance is $20, and includes breakfast and lunch. Scholarships are available. Registration and breakfast begins at 7:30 am, the conference begins at 9 am and ends at 4 pm.
